We have a great partnership with the USO lounge at BWI

January 14, 2026 -  Auxiliary Jr. Vice President Sandi Catania and Post member Paul Catania made another delivery to the USO lounge at BWI. They donated a variety of food items for military families to enjoy while they wait for their flight. Theresa (far left), one of the USO volunteers was happy to help unload all of the food. The Post also bought some books for their reading room. In the reading room, departing military members select a book and read it aloud on camera as if they are reading to their child. The recording and the book itself is sent to the servicemember's family so their kids can read along. It's a free service that we are happy to support.

Cookies and Cocoa with Kringle

December 7, 2025 - Everyone had a blast when Mr. and Mrs. Clause came to the post. Kids enjoyed crafts, snacks, songs, and stories. We loved meeting families in the community, and we were proud to collect canned goods for the Elkridge food bank.

Meeting with the candidates

October 21, 2025 - County council candidate Jean Xu visited the post, and Auxiliary president Nancy Shreve and Post commander Jeff Kelley told her about everything we do for veterans and for the entire Howard County community. We look forward to hosting other candidates in the future.

Helping the USO lounge at BWI

September 4, 2025 - The Post and Auxiliary, under the direction of Auxiliary Jr. Vice President Sandi Catania, had an amazing USO/BWI Tour and Donation Drop! We donated trunk loads of non perishable food that military and their families can enjoy while waiting for their flight. It's something we do on a regular basis, but we enjoyed a detailed tour this time. Sister Catania's commitment in making the lives of veterans and active duty military better is so inspiring!

Supporting Hospitalized Veterans

August 19, 2025 - One of our Auxiliary members made a large donation to the Loch Raven VA Medical Center. Post hospital chair, Shelby Rogers and Auxiliary president, Nancy Shreve presented the check to Pamela Green, Volunteer Service Specialist Loch Raven VA Medical Center. They were extremely appreciative to receive this kind donation.
