Supporting a Good Cause

July 14, 2026 - The saying goes, "Many hands make light work." Channon, the dedicated community ambassador from Mission BBQ in Ellicott City, generously volunteered her personal time to assist us in delivering a trolley full of non-perishable goods to the USO lounge at BWI. This is a cause we have passionately supported for years, and we are truly grateful for Channon's invaluable help.

We have a great partnership with the USO lounge at BWI

January 14, 2026 -  Auxiliary Jr. Vice President Sandi Catania and Post member Paul Catania recently made another generous delivery to the USO lounge at BWI. They provided a variety of food items for military families to enjoy while waiting for their flights. Theresa, one of the USO volunteers (far left), was delighted to assist with unloading the donations.

Additionally, the Post purchased several books for the USO reading room. In this special area, departing military members can select a book and read it aloud on camera, as if they are reading to their children. The recording, along with the book, is then sent to the servicemember's family, allowing their kids to read along. We are proud to support this free service that brings families closer together.

Cookies and Cocoa with Kringle

Meeting with the candidates

October 21, 2025 - County council candidate Jean Xu recently visited our post, where Auxiliary President Nancy Shreve and Post Commander Jeff Kelley shared insights about our dedication to supporting veterans and the broader Howard County community. We eagerly anticipate welcoming more candidates in the future.

Helping the USO lounge at BWI

September 4, 2025The Post and Auxiliary, led by Auxiliary Jr. Vice President Sandi Catania, recently hosted a remarkable USO/BWI Tour and Donation Drop! We proudly donated truckloads of non-perishable food items for military personnel and their families to enjoy while waiting for their flights. While this is a regular initiative for us, this time we were fortunate to enjoy an in-depth tour. Sister Catania's dedication to improving the lives of veterans and active-duty military members is truly inspiring!
